GPK product history
The wild, weird, and iconic history of garbage pail kids

About the brand

Since 1985, Garbage Pail Kids has proudly stood as the unruly icon of pop culture parody. Dreamed up by The Topps Company alongside a crew of legendary underground cartoonists, GPK was an instant playground sensation—outrageous, hilarious, and impossible to ignore.

Its grotesque gags and gleeful irreverence didn’t just shock school administrators—they supercharged demand. As bans spread, so did the buzz. What started as a single sticker card series snowballed into a full-blown collecting craze with over a dozen original series and counting.

Decades later, Garbage Pail Kids is still delivering the weird, the wild, and the wonderfully warped. From collectible trading cards to skateboards, cereal boxes, comics, and crossover collabs with WWE, Netflix, Chalk Line, Funko, and Geeki Tikis—GPK’s gross-out legacy lives on in every corner of pop culture.

Because once a GPK fan, always a GPK fan.
